With deep sorrow, we remember Daris Benally, age 24, whose life was tragically lost following an off-base vehicle accident near Malmstrom Air Force Base.

Airman 1st Class Benally, originally from Rapid City, South Dakota, served as a missile handler assigned to the 341st Missile Maintenance Squadron. After the accident on Thursday afternoon, he was transported to Benefis Health System, where he was later pronounced deceased. His passing has left his unit, friends, and loved ones in deep shock and mourning.

Within the Air Force community, Daris was known not only for his role in service but for the person he was beyond the uniform. He was a teammate, a friend, and a valued member of the 341st Missile Wing. His presence brought camaraderie and reliability to those who served alongside him, and his absence is deeply felt across the base.
